JJ was born in Texarkana Arkansas, grew up on Carmichael Hill, College Hill, and the Pinson Park Area. Attended Arkansas Sr. High in Texarkana and is proud to be a "Razorback". Played on the local scene in a number of bands "Cross-Tie Junction" and "Torch", along with many sessions with local musicians.
